Auto Fluid & Safe Mode?
« on: 15 May 2010, 12:36:56 »

Still having issues with my Autobox stuck in safe mode, have tried cleaning all the connecting cables, removed cleaned and re-aligned selector - re-set ECU - short of changing the lever selector switch on the gearbox (which I will do if all else fails) - I'm not sure what to do?
Since cleaning cables and connectors, it works OK for the first few minutes - then goes back to 'safe' better than before as it didn't work at all  :o
I have checked transmission fluid as VX prescribe, i.e. warm... and when I remove the plug bolt oil gushes out??? seems like its over filled  :-? they say that the ATF should be just below the level of the plug?
Could too much oil be a problem also?

Yep engine running... level ok...... but did need topping up a bit?
At least it works a normal for a few minutes before going back to safe mode, some improvement!
Will try the electrical connectors next... then a new or recon switch  >:(
Cheers guys!
