Is there a diagram somewhere on the forum (or else) that shows the wiring of the vacuum pipes under the bonnet of the facelift 3.2V6?

I've just had my HBV changed and there is a spare small vacuum pipe with an elbow on it. We can't seem to work out what it connects to.

The air out of the vents is very hot at all settings of the climate control. If I adjust it to 16 deg. it comes out just hot and if I drop it to Lo it comes out at about ambient.

Yes, it does go onto the connection on top of the HBV, providing you are talking about the thin vacume pipe with a rubber elbow in that area of the engine

There is als o the possiblity that some of the vac line have been crossed, & one of them from the servo brake vac line has been switched  :-/

I can't help with the schematic, but the vacuum hose connections above my HBV are like this.

there are two vacuum lines going through the bulkhead fitting.

as you stand looking at the front of the car, the one on hte RIGHT is the feed to the heater valve. This is run from the heater and what it does is to remove heat from the heater matrix when you have switched on the air-con AND selected full cold on both sides of the car.

the one on the LEFT comes from the vacuum reservoir in the pollen filter compartment and provides the vacuum signal to the heater.

In turn, the vacuum reservoir is supplied from the tee-piece in your picture.

Right, I sorted out the spare pipe, just a misunderstanding between me and my mechanic (it was the feed from the Manifold), but I still have a problem with the heat seemingly stuck on.

I've confirmed that the vacuum supply to the HBV is on when temp is up and off when temp is on LO. This suggests the HBV is normally off i.e. blocked when no vacuum to the diaphragm. So I thought: "if I disconnect the vacuum line to the HBV the valve will just stay shut, no hot water through the matrix and it should be cool in the car". So...

...Yesterday on the way to Aldbeburgh I disconnected the vacuum and it was still hot in the car when I turned on the Climate Control (16 deg). I've come to the conclusion something is wrong with the HBV, ether it's the wrong part (are there different types?), or it's a faulty part.

Any suggestions?

I'll check it out tonight on both pre and post-facelift.

I'm pretty sure that both sswitches to full-cold and A/C enabled is the only circumstance for vacuum to be supplied to the reservoir.

it could be possible to get the coolant pipes wrong, tho.
