had to change mine today. It had caused 2 cut outs during 2 u-turns leaving me in the middle of the road and 2 failure to start from outside my house in the last 3 weeks.

it cost 50 or 60 from the local dealer - list price was 72.

can't remember exact price but all up with replacement o-ring for the sump plug, 6 litres of 10-40 semi synthetic and a filter it cost me £101.60p.

Making the change was fairly simple.

Mine just failed to start outside the house, had been working fine Tuesday night, Wednesday morning turned the key and it turned over nicely but wouldn't fire it only happened once before and that was last September but a continued turning of the key had working it again and not a problem with it since... till now that is.

a few years ago I would have jumped at doing this kind of job, it is easy, but I suffer with arthritis in my back and knees and can't get under cars like I used to hence asking for help to fit it. it is embarrassing though because it IS so easy.

My local Vauxhall dealer Brandish wanted £98.11 for the sensor and they didn't have one in stock and would have to order it in, Great Central Vauxhall, Rugby apparently have both versions in stock and I'll pick one up tomorrow not sure on the price but they can't be worse than Brandish, and fingers crossed, I'll be able to get a friend to get it on his TC which might help with the price a bit too

i have got one here from a 3.2i v6 auto, if someone confirms thats the right one and lets me know on here by the morning i am in the office at 730 to 8am before going to the auctions, i could dig it out for you and get it mailed out for a very small £
it works fine as removed from a running car.
