Did Vauxhall muff up !
« on: 23 May 2010, 22:53:32 »

I'm curious !    My facelift Elite 3.0 has got the MV6 setup and suspension from the time of manufacture. Why ?

I love her to death but sure miss the ride and comfort of my old CD on occasions.

Cost Option?

Ex Met car used to ferry around Diplomats?

I too have 'uprated' suspension, and before I bought the car, Bilstein Shocks were fitted to the front.  I wish it was the standard setup......... I might still be young, but my days of taking roundabouts at 70mph are well over.

got a bit of a theory that a LOT of the early Facelift Elites had MV6 suspension, mother T's 3.0 Elite Estate is a facelift on a W, its defo an Elite, but has MV6 on the log book. The ride is quite harsh on some of the bumps. Done same commute in mine and the 3.0, ride in mine is far better!  :o

Interesting !   Was told by the seller that she was originally owned by the BBC....Could have been designed along the Diplomat theory I suppose...especially given that she's black.

Have seen a few the other way round, facelift MV6's with wood trim and CD/CDX/ELITE front bumpers.

Accept the fact your shocks are utterly, incredibly, woefully, dangerously, totally, completely knackered.  Not just worn. Knackered.

You simply cannot compare yours to anything else.

Whilst yours may pass an MOT (seeing as they don't leak - all oils long since disappeared from them), that does not make it safe.

There, I've said it.
