« on: 25 May 2010, 17:03:21 »

Ive an 99 omega 3.0mv6  it wont start with the key first time but if i turn the ignition on and put power direct to the starter from the battery it will go fine.

If i turn the ignition off and then back on it will start fine, its only if i leave it overnight that it starts to give bother.

any ideas?

Hi

my immobiliser light does not light all the time.

havent checked as of yet but there is no EML. Would this even show if it was an immobiliser problem?

When you say put power directly to the starter, do you mean running a thin cable to the starter solenoid ? if so I suspect the ignition switch is becoming faulty.

If you are putting a large cable to the starter direct feed then you may have a main cable fault.

Best way to check is with a test light, get assistant to turn key while you hold test light on solenoid exciter wire if it does not light up work backwards towards ignition switch.

HTH

Forgot to say, there may be a relay in the circuit which may also be cause of problem.
