Best way to check compressor. Am I right in thinking, turn ECO mode on then switch it off and see if it kicks in :-/

As you say, in ECO mode the compressor pulley will be static and when you put Auto on the pulley will spin. Just remember that if the gas is very low the compressor will not kick in.

Wish I had known this yesterday. Still my gas was still low anyway. New compressor from vauxhall £356 +VAT. Trade card £262.30 + VAT

One of the joys of Aircon problems is that unless something is blatantly obvious you will have to have a re-gas anyway to find the problem.

Hello Rob,I'm at present involved in trying to get the air con OK,and diagnoseing the problem to put it right is a ba**ard,its become very complicated and as I'm too slow at the keyboard to explain fully (arthritis in the fingers) Just discovered if you Google "car air conditioning problems" its all fully explained even the climate control aspect is there,I will let you know when and how I get it sorted, as the previous post says I do concurr,Hopefully a regass will sort yours.

and don't you believe a regass will tell you the problem, I've had and paid for 2. they were only interested in putting the gas back in the machine for safety.
