Years ago I asked at a local garage about my car (can't remember now why :-/)
His reply was ..... 'we don't touch them mate! Too complicated'  :-?  :-?  :-?  :-?

I have the same problem...  its like am being punished for having a nice car..

have already had to change the HBV and the crank sensor myself..  using guides off here... garage wanted nearly £200 for each of them..  and been quoted £450 for a service...

So decided to do it myself...

I think those kinds of quotes are to make you take your car else where cos they haven't a clue. It's worked so far. You hold the trump card though, cos you now know it's been done correctly!  :y  :y  :y

As H21 says, have a look through the maint section at what you want to do or feel happy to do. If there's any problem area you need hlep with, there'll be help from here .... either written or it might be possible for a visit!  :-?  ;)  :y  :y  :y

when it comes to the service is it just filters and fluids that need changing or are there other things too...??

That's generally what mine gets, but consider cambelt at 4yrs/40 000 miles, brake pads etc

OE are more than good enough. Beware of aftermarket discs .... they're more prone to warping than OE  ;)

Get yourself a Trade club card and save yourself a lot of Money.
If your going to do your own servicing, the card  will more than repay the £20 outlay on your first trip to the VX dealer. :y
