Fault codes on 3.2
« on: 12 June 2010, 16:21:28 »

Hi,

Just done the pedal trick and am getting the following codes

0100-Mass or volume air circuit
0420-Catylst system below efficiency below threshold(Bank 1)

So what do these mean? Knackered MAF and Cat?

Cheers,
Iain

not necessarily, maf could be wiring fault or unplugged when the ignition was on, is that possible?

cat code is normal on that engine, have a search, well covered subject. No need to buy new cats.

Is there a way to check the MAF to see if its working properly? I disconnected it yesterday and there was no difference i nthe way it drove, still felt that there was a hesitation in the delivery of power and that it juddered when coming off the throttle

Iain

Was the reading of the fault codes before or after it was driven whilst disconnected?

If before, its a pre-existing condition.  If after then you are viewing a historic code that no longer, possibly, applies?

Hi,

Did pedal test last week, ran with plug off yesterday, coes are still present. Im guessing there's no way of telling unless i get it on Tech 2 or get a known good MAF to swap out, beginning to bug me big time. Even if I had another 3.2 to compare it with, just doesn't feel right to when I got it

I have a 3 ;itre maf on the shelf in the garage and a known good one for a 3.2 on the car.  Renfrew is a bit of a stretch for me though plus, I have a T2 at this end of the journey!   ;D

Hi,

I see that Keithnic is looking for work doing to his car and DLK had talked off a trip up here so if that goes ahead soon then it gives me an excuse to come up, otherwise im at RAF Leuchers now and again so could take the car up next time, though don't know when that would be, think its my only viable option as there's no one around my area who has a clue about these cars
