2.2 Diesel With Oil In Water/Vice Versa
« on: 29 June 2010, 23:25:12 »

Ok Im not really up on the diesels so a little advice please. One of my friends has been offered a 02 2.2 Diesel Estate on the cheap as the owners dont want to spend any more money on it.

The garage they have taken it too has reported that there is oil in the water and water in the oil, however he has also done a head test and says its definatly not he head gasket. Now like I say Ive never worked on a diesel mig but it sounds like the head gasket to me but what do you lot think.

Id there an oil cooler on the 2.2d or anything else that could cause it. Oh its a manual and before you ask I havent seen it so I dont know how much oil is in the water  ::)

it could be the vain in the block,( they are capped off when made, may have popped out) if you pressure test oil systerm ( blocking of the vents) should see water bot bubble, or oil cooler.
