Lazy pass side Lock
« on: 19 June 2010, 06:36:35 »

Hi all
i have aquired a passenger lock and servo as the breakers only sell them complete but i only need the motor but i thought i heard it on here that the pass servo is only a 3 pin but this one is 6 pin same as drivers side
Numbers on servo are
605328
GM
90493702
then
1101215
i dont want to strip it all down and find its wrong i dont have the drivers side numbers
the question is will it fit I would have thought so as its is lh drive in germany
Unless its a left hand drive it came off
Thanks
Rob

You don't actually need to take it out on drivers side, can be done without, i just found it easier lifting it all up and having more space. I used to have a few spare, not any more  :(

Scrappy near me you can wonder around cars yourself, so got a couple of them for a tenner

Where is this scrappy? I like those types. Can pick up a lot of the odds & sods that are needed, usually without being charged a fortune!

i've only had this problem once so far, but would it be safe to say...

if there is no sign of life from the door pin, then the motor has failed

if its lazy, not quite locking, struggling, intermitent etc then the lock mech is dry and needs lubing to allow the motor to throw the full travel, before the motor fails due to the strain.

Thanks for all advice i have now changed the pass lock solonoid and was suprised how well it went but one thing on testing the solonoid in the wiring it too was slugish so took it back to breakers who said they didnt have another lock i had to buy lock complete as they would not split solonoids off but the lad came back with one from a Corsa and swapped solonoid with that one in front of me it was exactly the same number so i now know Corsa lock solonoids work this one worked fine all done the actial job took under an hour from start to finish with the help of the excellent guide by tunnie thanks Mate

On mine, the lens wouldn't stay on. I have found that if you remove the whole light fitting (which you can do with the lens attached) then you can squeeze the metal backing and it will slide out. This means you can happily glue the lens in place and still be able to change the bulb in the future.
