Traffic wardens/ Parking attendents/ Clampers
« on: 01 October 2006, 07:49:56 »

I have to say that I am impartial to all this parking attendent stuff. I think the sneaky, lying, cheating, caniving, lowlife scumbucket bar stewards are ok myself. >:(

Nothing against traffic wardens.

Park legally and you are fine! ;)

Yes, but this is the point. Even when you do park legally, they still try to get you. I had one of the best cases last year when our van was given a ticket in Nottingham which we hadn't paid, so the more expensive reminder arrived through the post. Unfortuantely for the warden, not only was our van 400 miles away on this day, but we obtained the CCTV footage of the location for that day and it confirmed that we were not there.

So, parking legally doesn't come into this. Proper wardens in London used to have some degree of common sense, the new breed of parking attendents have one motive. MONEY. Nothing else enters their tiny, insignificant lives. Little hitlers who wouldn't last 5 minutes up against a lion.

That is my unbiased and balanced opinion anyway. ;)

Can I have another vote?

Park legally and you are fined!

Another impartial and calm post from you Fin, written without any personal animosity!  ;D

Clearly those wardens who act improperly (and illegally) should be dealt with in a suitable manner!

Usually. However, when I lived in London, a traffic warden did put a ticket on my car because the back bumper was just over a yellow line. The wheels were not on it and I won the appeal.
Great, you might think, bit the appeal was heard in central London, mid afternoon. So, without an understanding boss, you've lost out anyway(wages)

Last time I got a ticket.....it was fair play and I got off it  :D
I was parked outside a Natwest Bank on double yellows......you are allowed 5 mins on double yellows.....alot of peeps dont realise this.
Trouble was there was a blinking long queue in the bank and i was 15mins......came outside to find a warden writing out a ticket.....saying you've been gone longer than 5 mins.....i agreed and took the ticket. After I'd driven off I noticed that the warden had made a mistake with the registration number.....hed got a number wrong  ;D

I did think off going back to tell him his mistake  ::) but thought id stay  :-X

I notice now they have started taking pics of the registration plate and position of the car.......so dont think id get away with that one again.

Well my recent fine as of yesterday I was'nt even parked there for 5 mins, the clamp was already on, did'nt even have a chance to give me a ticket, until later, after he drove me home to get my debit card, and take me back to the car. As there was no way my car was going on the back of anyones truck >:(

My own fault should have know better, paid the £120, now I am going to appeal, I will post the pics later from last night. :-X

Also shud add.....

As im not always busy during the day.......i have to find places to park up inbetween jobs.....places i use are out the way and not causing an obstruction but do have double yellow lines and obviously as im still in the car i would move if i were in the way.....most wardens walk pass and using their common sense say dont worry im not going to move you on.....even tho they have been instructed to move on taxi's parked on double yellows and report them to the licensing office.

A few of them move you on and take your registration number  >:(

I've only ever had one parking offence.  I still dispute I was on double yellows - I had all 4 wheels on pavement, hence wasn't parked on road.... ;)
