3.2 Maf Sensor choice
« on: 11 July 2010, 10:00:12 »

fair few out there...

anyone bought one with good / bad results recently?

I know mine is dodgy so figure I may as well replace before the MOT.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=0281002184

would prob go for this one out of the cheapies due to a years warranty
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Air-Flow-Meter-Omega-Vectra-0281002184-PROMO-/150429582983?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item23064d4687

or is it best to go more genuine at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mass-Air-Flow-Meter-OPEL-Omega-3-2-00-03-Y32SE-MAF-/180442540574?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0336aa1e

which still beats the £133 + vat Vauxhall want.

or has anyone got an old knackered 2.6 / 3.2 one they could send me the element out of?  as my readings are 0 for this, they normally read high, but there are fuel trim codes as well, so sounds like something MAF is really not right.

Cheers

Not for a 3.2 but a 2.5 V6 - I have bought 2 from these people -theairflowmetercompany - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Air-Flow-Meter-Company - for both saloon & estate - paid about £30 ea on Best Offer.  Fast delivery and both worked/working ok (since Aug 09)

my thinking, more than possible to end up paying more than a reasonably priced genuine item if you have one or more cheapo's fail. Personally i would source the cheapest possible genuine item, which means avoiding the dealers obviously. I'm under the impression from past posts that 70odd sobs can get you a genuine bosch? although prices may well have gone up by now.

Same part no. (marked on the maf) also covers the 2.6 and several other vehicles including ford transit i believe?

All i know jb. Or think i know, i've not had to source one myself, but i know Mick Dundee and Martin Imber have.
