Omega engine management light.

Hi guys,got a problem with my Omega 2.2 cd auto,the engine management light came on,and when i had it looked at i was told to replace to coil pack,of which i have,car started to run ok,then the light is on again and now when it's warmed up everytime i come to slow down or stop the revs seem to be all over the place,and it's as if it's going to stall,it is doing my head in,any ideas very much appreciated?

Get someone who knows what they are doing to have a look. Which, sadly, rules out most garages - including the one you used last time by the sounds of it.

There are likely to be members near you with code reading equipment that will give us some clues.

What year is the car?
Will the 'paper clip' trick not work?

Follow the instructions carefully, if you do not have the pins in the required slots then don't be tempted to use others, your car is not suitable for paper-clipping and you may blow the e.c.u.

Rather than use the incorrect info on topbuzz, use the correct, accurate guides and code list in our own Maintenence Guides...


...but in this case, a 2.2 needs a code reader...
