V8Star Spoiler
« on: 16 July 2010, 02:17:47 »

Does anyone know where to find decent bootlid spoilers as all i seem to be able to find are horrible jap style things. Looking for a good one like on J.Cecotto's V8Star race car???

Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

Well, everyone's entitled to do what they want to their own car, but are you seriously thinking of putting a spoiler of this type on your car ?  :-? .

You may want to try looking at places like Halfords, Demon Tweeks, or any other motorsport supplier etc, there bound to have the sort you're looking for.

Internet search via 'search engine' should find you what you want ?.

I just love it when someone asks a question on here and gets shot down cos of personal taste.

Doesn't help the guy or the forum, does it?

Anyone who thinks a spoiler like this should be on a road car needs their head examined!

Especially on a 2.0!

Tunnie, with respect and allready mentioned.

When someone asks a question then thats what they are doing, they are not asking your opion, this is not generral chat.   :y

And that just underlines my point - and makes it worse.

Thanks for your wide and varied responses, some positive. I am not asking everyone to like it as this is my taste. I AM aiming at creating a road legal replica of the race car. As to the comments about my 2.0, firstly even this engine has punted this car along at 136mph with a little more to go in standard form (before the cam sensor packed up, now only revs to about 4000rpm) .
Secondly, i am looking into replacing the standard 2.0 Ecotec with a 4.6 Northstar mated to a 6 speed box with all of the other required modifications (i.e. Brakes, Suspension, Wheels & Tyres and so forth). This is a long term plan in the making and before i even begin i am just doing all of my homework first.

Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

Can you seriously say this does NOT look handsome.

On a genuine track car its there for a purpose, on a road car. Looks stupid in my opinion, and belongs on a Saxo!

Regarding a V8, your better off fitting an LS1 or LS7, GM almost put the 5.7V8 and released it, there are full tech specs on fitting that engine. It was only pulled at the last minute before hitting production

I like you Tunnie. If this spoiler won't be useful on my miggy ,"Only A 2.0" ,what the hell use would it be on a peashooter Citroen PAXO with only front wheel drive and at MOST a 2.0.
I just think a rare and unique miggy will be needed in years to come.

Cause i've got a 2.2 and i know they are gutless, and won't win any races. yes they do 136, but they take for ever to get there.
