AHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!

so its in the garage and now being told that its an ECU as no signal to the injectors. !!!

It starts but runs very lumpy on petrol  all ok  on LPG though

It's not the ECU.

If there were no signal to the injectors it wouldn't run on LPG as the LPG system relies on the injector signals from the main ECU.

Possibly it's something in the LPG system but I would question their diagnostic capabilities, TBH.

As I recall, this car has always run poorly on petrol and has been getting worse. I remember we looked it a while ago...

No signal to petrol injectors would be a sudden thing, and VERY unlikely to affect all 4 injectors at once.

It sounds to me like something in the petrol supply side has been gradually failing. Perhaps the pump is no longer able to supply the rated fuel pressure and has been gradually dying, the FPR is not regulating the correct pressure any more, filter or injectors getting clogged perhaps?

I know some of these items have been changed but this is the line of diagnosis that needs to be followed, IMHO.

If you'd like to bring it over sometime I'd be happy to have another look.

The garage have an electrical man due in monday who will take a look but it would be great if you could have a look.  I will be in touch next week.
Fuel pump and filter changed last week.

So the story goes on .....the auto electrician has had a look and thinks that its the fuel pump relay.. Ones on order ..

Any thoughts

That can easily be checked by bridging the two contacts so it runs continuously. :y
