Ah,thanks all, things are much clearer now,Can't beat this forum for enlightened tips, certainly a lot of good thinking members. Now haveing a Pela for sure,Like the idea of doing an oil extraction then removeing the plug to check the amount left, that gives me my answer, so simple! why didnt I think of that? I know why. So no clever answers to that!!Its not that I cant work under the car I still can,but not getting any easier though, it's just that I now find it messy. I still use an old sink bowl as a drain pan, then pour in to the empty oil container ready for the tip disposal point. Should be able to use the pela to ship it to the tip disposal tank direct.I've used a certain O/40 Fully Synthetic oil on all my motors for the last 15yrs, and change at a 1/3 interval when the oil still has some clarity on the dipstick, Some will say it's a waste to use a performance oil on a miggy so extravagantly, but I'm still waiting to do my 1st breather clean out, or see any sign whatever of mayo, + on the odd time I floor it,the oil hopefully gives that extra protection.I've always checked the drained oil next morning for nasty sludge when pouring it out of the bowl and never had any thing to worry about, I will lose this check, but I will do a filter change every other change, and do a sump drain plug test then. So there it is, thanks to all your super input,I'm sorted! I think I'll have a tidy, spill free, clean efficient engine oil change system, so down to Machine Mart tomorrow
