hi all i have a 2001 mv6 estate picked it up from an auto elec today then going along the motorway the engine died after a while it started again then after a couple of mins stopped again and so on got it back to the auto elec thinking it was something hed done after a while he phoned me and told me it was the crank sensor at fault but he cant do it could he be right and also does anyone know roughly how much to get it fixed as the car is currently up for sale thanks.

could well be.  (and about £50)

Do the pedal test (assuming 2.6 / 3.2) and let us know the codes..

Hold down brake and throttle, and turn key to position 2.

The EML will now flash out the codes.

Just had mine done same symptoms stop start £80.00
