LPG on a V6
« on: 12 August 2010, 13:23:48 »

I would like to convert my Omega to LPG.  I wondered if any members here have any specific guidance for this car, its a 2000(v) 2.5 V6 auto

There are some guides to the LPG fitting process in the Maintenance Guides section. Plenty of us have done it so have a look at the guides and then fire away if you have any questions. :y

The guide for the front end is only for a 4 pot (must do the V6 one :-[ ::)) but the theory is the same :y :y

Been noticing it's becoming quite popular on here to convert, I bought mine already done and didn't pay much more than an unconverted one.

Suppose I was lucky but sometimes it's easier to sell your own and buy one someone has already had done. Just a thought!

90% of the cars I have worked on with LPG have been a nightmare..
I personally think it would be a better way to buy a car without it LPG then get someone who has been recommended to you to fit LPG. This way your not buying Crap & Nightmares :y

Seconded... I'd rather convert a known good car than buy an unknown with LPG which adds many other potential issues ;) ;)

I've got the pictures somewhere already, although a few more may be handy, and just need to do the text (which is basically the same as the 4 pot guide ::))

Just seem to have been stupidly busy for the last few months ;) ;)

Member on here, JAMESV6ELITE, set up a business specialising in looking after Migs including doing LPG conversion.  His prices were good and in my experience his knowledge and advice were first class.  I hope to be dealing with him again shortly :y

on the subject of LPG conversion, does anybody know, would I be able to use the LPG set up off my old 3.5efi V8 Range Rover on my 2.5 V6 Omega?

Unlikely... Was it a SGIS system or mixer?

And, TBH, if you're capable of DIY converting it then a full new kit with warranty wont cost dramatically more than replacing all the parts (like fuel lines, filler, tank etc) which need replacing and recycling the old kit ;)

You'll have to join the queue... I'm not available until October at the earliest (and even then it'll be mid week) and TB is in front of you in the queue ;) ;)

That said... I'm sure we'll get it done soon enough :y :y
