Squeeeeeeeling breaks

My brakes have started squeeeling terribly,it's the rear brakes there doesn't seem to be any dirt in them and pads have loads of meat on them?would copper grease sort it?it's is very very loud though! :y

Only when you apply the brakes? Check the anti-rattle springs have not rusted away or cracked, else try filing a small chamfer on the pad leading edge. Copper grease on the back of the pad and ordinary grease on the metal contact points wont go amis.

If the noise is there all the time have you checked the handbrake?

It's only when I apply brakes.will have a look later!thanks for the advice.

Not sure what make they are!I have disks and pads all round.

you could have reached a hard point in the pads ( usualy found in the cheaper brands ) this is where the compound has been over baked or an abundance of chemical. not a lot you can do but replace   preferably with a decent brand........ this presuming copper slip doesnt work.
