2.2 16v Rev Drop underload
« on: 31 August 2010, 08:31:40 »

Hi Guys,

I've just come back from my first batch of motorway driving with my omega, and have noticed a weirdness. Under hard acceleration, in sport mode, there is a slight dip in revs after changing up. Basically the following happens:
[olist]
  • Stand on the gas with the sport button pressed. The car pulls well
  • Car shifts up, hits 3500-4000 rpm.
  • The revs drop slightly(200rpm), as if I've backed off the gas for a second or two
  • The revs build again, and off we go.
  • [/olist]

I do currently have a blowing manifold, which ticks away however hot the engine gets, that I haven't yet had the courage to fix.

I've never had an auto before so I don't know if the above is normal, or related to the manifold or what. No EML btw.

    Any one got an opinion?
