Strange Warning Message
« on: 26 August 2010, 12:30:02 »

Ok I have no idea what this one is so Im hoping one of you can enlighten me.

When starting the car this morning I got the usual check brake warning on the dash, but when cleared I got a warning saying Check Headlight Vision. I checked the lights and they were all on and appeared level???

Any ideas anyone???/

Sounds like it's detected a fault with the H/L levelling system and they'll have defaulted to a low setting

Possibly one of the arms has popped off the sensor. Pic of front one here, centre of pic http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1219190177 Rear sensor is bolted to nearside radius arm

Well thanks for your advice chaps, that's one fault out of the way. The bar had popped out of the sensor so it was a quick refit and away we go.

Unfortunatly vauxhall let me down on delivery of my other parts so the exhaust manifold will have to wait another few weeks. Did get chance to check my brakes and found I need new discs all round tut tut and it looks like new bottom arms as well. She's just like my ex wife, she wants money left right and centre >:( ::)

Nope. What about a small cable tie :-/

Sorryi meant the headlight level sensor on the front wishbone. It's the plastic arm that pushes into the sensor !

As RobG said, use a cable tie or two to hold it onto the main sensor body.  :y

Its no good just popping it back in.

The reason they come out is because the two small ball joints seize up on the link rod, you need to clean and lube these so they are nice a free before popping the arm back in.

That's what I have done for a temporary repair but would rather replace if I could!

Hit a massive pothole today and now have this fault. I am assuming the arm has popped off. Is it something I can look at/fix with the wheel on or will I need to jack up and remove the wheel to gain access ?
