Auto gearbox not changing up gear
« on: 02 September 2010, 14:05:36 »

1999 2.5 v6, occasionally( at the moment) the gear box will stay in 1st gear until rev's reach 4k it usually then works ok. It may be coincidence but this seems to occur more often if the car has not been used for a couple of days. Is this the start of something terminal? Will the fault be able to be read on a diagnostic meter or 'paperclip' test.

yes, the rev higher in warm up cycle - the mornings have been cooler.

if its not that, then checking the fluid level would be a next step  :y
