Thanks for that, I appreciate your replies. :y

Why sell?  Well, much as I absolutely love this car, my DJ business needs require a totally reliable form of transport, and TBH at 160000 miles, it's getting a bit tired and I have had a few problems lately.  I cannot afford to be late or breakdown on the way to someone's wedding or birthday party.  Also I need to be able to shift bigger equipment which means a bigger boot, so I'm getting a van!  Gonna miss this baby big time.. :'(

Well on these the one thing which cripples them is a crank sensor.

They make good towcars.

Maintained I think they are no less reliable than any other car except for the crank sensor, and maybe the HBV

The crank sensor died during the year, and was replaced.  This one does have a factory fitted towbar, but I never drag anything around with it!

£100 hmmm......... ::)

Good news, it's just passed an MOT, had rear brake pads done, and exhaust!
So I will be selling it probably next week.

I'm nearly ready to sell it, wondering whether ebay is a good place to advertise a car considering the large amount of exposure it will get compared to something like the Autotrader.  What do you reckon?

I've taken a few pics BTW:

i wouldnt put it on ebay, will attract those only wanting to pay about £800!!

stick it on trader at a price just above what you'd realistically take, and with a good advert highlighting all the good stuff a buyer's money will get them, and it just might sell for a good figure

Nice car, could get a replacement boot door without too much bother I reckon,  Like it

If I was in the market I would be knocking on your door!
Actually, I best hide this from the Mrs, she fancies an MV6 as well ;)

yes, it's got a couple of little rust spots on the boot, one just under the wiper motor and the one to the right of the number plate.

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what the autotrader can do.

Hi all, I have finally had the work done that this needed, and got the private plate transferred (what a bleedin' effort!).  So the car is now up for sale on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-MV6-ESTATE-AUTO-SILVER_W0QQitemZ190189379402QQihZ009QQcategoryZ9858QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I tried posting it in the for sale section, but to no avail.  Any reason or have I missed something stupid?

need to have more than 50 posts in order to post in the casr for sale section, although one of the mods might move it for you out of kindness.

Good write up by the way, lots of piccys, nice and clean, makes the car far more appealing. It should sell at that price, personally i would have tried a buy it now at £2250 and allow for offers as well
