Headlight Adjustment
« on: 09 September 2010, 13:22:49 »

Hi i have just repaired my headlight adjuster with the aluminium ones (really good product)
What it the correct way of adjusting the beam pattern to where it should be.
I took it for MOT and the tester only moved the adjuster which hadnt been broken what does the other one do The one which actually Broke.
As these are definatly not where they used to be.
It passed The MOT but im not convinced there are right

One alters the horizontal positiona dn teh other the vertical.

The method I use is to find a flat surface and drive up so the bumper is almost touching the wall.

Turn the lights ona dn you will see a birght spot on the wall where the beam pattern kicks up.

Mark this position for both lights.

Move the vehicle straight back 3m or os and adjust the lights so the bright spot (which will now be wider and more defined) is in line with (horizontaly) and baout 5-10mm below (verticaly).

Repeat a few times and jobs a goodun
