Hello everyone, I need some help please,
« on: 14 September 2010, 16:43:03 »

Hi,

I'm currently on my 3rd Omega and I have encountered a problem with my heater/blower.

I have all the lights on the dash so the fuse is ok. I have a working rear screen too. The side window blowers are blowing air but there is no air coming through to the screen, feet, face or any combination.

Has anyone got any ideas of what may be wrong?

Thanks.

James

Hi

Welcome to the forum :y

It may be something as simple as needing a reset. I have a similar issue with mine.

There is a simple way of resttting by pressing a couple of buttons but I have forgotten it. Someone knowledgeable will be along shortly!

Could be a vacuum hose off somewhere. The various flaps that direct the airflow being moved by vacuum motors on your/our age of car (not sure whether the same is true on newer models).

In behind the knob that changes the vent selection is a little vacuum manifold.  Check that you have suck on the incoming yellow hose with engine idling, and check that none of the others have dropped off.

Yes, "Auto" and "Off" together for a minimum of 5 seconds. ;) ;)

Thankyou very much for those suggestions.
I tried the two button reset with no success unfortunately and there doesn't seem to be any fan/motor noise at all.
Does anyone else have any more suggestions please?

I forgot to mention that the big fuse (#30 from memory) hasn't blown either.

Have a read of this guide to Scuttle Drain Cleaning

There is a chance that water has damaged your fan speed controller :(

Welcome.
I read on here that pressing the fan increase and decrease buttons together for a few seconds reset the system.
