Wheel bearing
« on: 13 September 2010, 10:13:51 »

Hi Guys,

I need a new wheel bearing for front nearside of the Omega, I found one on ebay.

Does someone have the part number so I can check it? anything else I should ask them about it?

Will I need anything else? its a 98 elite 3.0

Price for parts Robs quoting, are conti tech, and works out about £70 a pair delivered , there was a suggestion they may be cheaper if ordered by phone from sutton auto factors who run the buypartsbuy site.

Yes, but note their wishbones are shite.

Seem very goo on EBC brake discs too, hmmmm, and rubs chin. :)

I have used Sutton Auto Factors (buypartsby) on the MV6, no issues (that I can blame on the quality of the part)

About £30 collected iirc

Sutton Auto FActors are here in Nottingham. Would never ever use them for anything. They have supplied me totally wrong parts in the past and the stuff they do supply is cheap and very nasty.

Get what you pay for ime Mc B, can't fault them personally. Although some members have had bad experience with their wishbones, as mentioned.

Bearings they are selling are conti tech. Have you had a problem with those?

New bearing has come today :)

Just been having a look in the book (Haynes manual) and the torque setting for the hub nut is 320nm  :o

Anyone know anywhere I can get a torque wrench that will go that high? fairly sure any I can get my hands on only go to 220nm

Cheers guys  :y
