Front Passenger Door dead locked.
« on: 06 September 2010, 18:35:13 »

2002 / 3.2 Elite
In the last few days I have noticed that the front passenger door will not open from the key fob and I can't pull the tab up.  I have worked out that the motor for the lock has a fault and it is in the deadlock position, but I can't open the door to get the door card off to change the offending item. Has anybody had the same problem and a solution would be gratefully recieved.   :(

You can sometimes help the door pin up if you pull it at the same time as you unlock via the fob. You'll have to keep trying as I believe it's a bugger getting the door card of with the door closed.

Might, but don't hold me to it, have to sacrifice a door card to get at it,just remove everything you can get at if you do have to tear it off, a good used replacement card won't be expensive,

Hopefully someone knows another way

Try removing fuse for central locking and opening it with the key

Correct :y not even on my mini-facelift. I sure the passenger door key hole was dropped early on in Omega manufacture.

Open the passenger window, then gently but firmly grip the knob with either mole grips or pliers, if mole grips set so it grips it not crush it , then get wifey to unlock the car while you are gently but firmly lifting the button if you are lucky witch you should be it will pop up
then get new solonoid from breakers if you cant get a omega one a nova or corsa are the same check the number of course.

Thats how I did my passenger door.  firm pull in fact a little leverage against the door did not press the key fob at the same time
