iv a 95 2.5td, i know there will be issues with gearing ratio but will the hole diff and housing fit straight into the TD or are shafts or housing different?

Be willing to bet the splines on the prop shaft will be different than the td, and unsure if the td generates more torque per ft lb than the mv6,if it does would just wreck the diff anyway

As the diesel uses the AR 25 box as standard and the 3L MV6 uses the stronger AR 35 I would say that the diesel has less torque than the 3L. 
I bought an LSD from an unidentified Omega and fitted it to my 3L.  It was not completely straight forward as the input flange on the "new" diff was too small and I had to fit a 3L flange to match with that on the prop.  Apart from that the diff bolted in fine and used my existing drive shafts.

Are you 100% sure the MV6 has an LSD?

i would agree with lincs_robert, not all mv6's had lsd fitted, it was only an option (the 3 mv's ive owned have had open diff's)
And there is no way of visually telling if it is or not from the outside, the only way is to take the back plate off a physically look inside.

Mv'6 have a 3.70 ratio diff, the diesel is 3.45
If you fitted it, you would have much shorter gearing, but not un-driveable.

Torque is not an issue but the gearing probably will be. Calculate the MPH per engine RPM  and see if it's acceptable.

You could probably fit the crownwheel and pinion from your old diff into an LSD but this is not that straightforward as the mesh of the gears will need to be set afterwards.

the internal splines in the diffs are all the same - even for Senator A/Monza.

if you're doing what I think you're doing, then re-use the crownwheel and pinion from the Diesel diff, and fit the LSD crownwheel carrier into the diesel casing. That way, the pinion height setting will be maintained and all that you have to worry about is getting the backlash set.

there is no alternative other than to blue up the gears and set the tooth contact properly. rapid and spectacular diff failure will be the result of any other procedure.

absolute cleanliness is the key - especially in the circlip grooves.

the mesh of the gears depends on the thickness of the circlips, sosome muck stuck behind the circlip makes the difference between a silent diff and a loud or failed diff.
