Found a place with cheap Omega bits
« on: 23 September 2010, 15:18:36 »

Hello,

Here a is good place to pickup cheap Omega bits: 'Euro Car Parts'. For example, a drive belt for an 3.0 £48 from Vauxhall, £15 from Euro or Spark Plug Leads for a 3.0 £185!!! from Vauxhall, £27 from Euro. I've just bought both from my MV6 and can see no difference to my originals and no more pinking from it too. It goes to show how much markup there is on these items.

I've ordered some shocks from here and they arrived two days after they said they would >:(

I work away from home and i've had to drive the length of the country in a 1.3 Ford Ka because i took the old ones off ready to fit the new ones and i'm 6'4" tall so not too comfy, I miss my Omega. :'(

Yes that can be an issue, I've had the same problem ordering parts, delays and the like. I never trust delivery companies, unless you know its coming by a proper one like DHL or TNT. I've got a store in town, so can check the item as I pick it up.

"Home Delivery Network" people? Useless bunch, they definitely don't fall into the category of a 'proper delivery company'!

I bought my front B4s from them, 48+vat on the website, went to the store 43+vat. They get my vote on the one time i've used them, only pita is that the store wont get parts in from the hub without prepayment at the counter.

Hello,

I'm not saying they-re good, they could be quite hopeless, just that I've bought some spark leads and a belt today, both were in stock and they were cheap. And cheap is my favorite word.

Are the leads the same length as the originals or is lead 6 alot longer?   If they're the same as gm ones can you post the part no .

I agree with the cheapness, haven't had a chance to examine the product yet so couldn't comment, just pi***d off at the inconvenience it's caused me.

I have used europarts for all three of my Omegas for a long time now, the 2.0ltr is 12 years old with 187000 miles on the clock and I've had it for 10years with no problems with their parts and the car has been 100% reliable. In all honesty I can't afford main stealers inflated prices and just lately on the odd occasion when I have had to go to them they just don't seem to keep Omega spares on the shelf and I've had to wait 24/48 hrs for delivery.I guess it's horses for courses and how deep your pockets are.

My nearest car parts shop is a branch of EUROCRAPARTS, so I use them from time to time. I dont think they are too bad tbh, probably better than Halfrauds.
I got a wiper motor for the Merc from them - £135. Next door at the MB stealers they wanted £350. :o
Iirc the motor was Bosch branded, so may well have been the same part that MB would have sold me for almost three times the price.

Hi Lee.

I too bought HT Leads from Euro Car Parts a couple of days ago.  The leads in my car are the original ones which were installed on the day of manufacture.  These leads are IDENTICAL, same wording on them, same length.  The only difference is they dont have a small tag to specify the cylinder number.

I paid £23.00 + VAT.  Vauxhall want over £150 for the VERY SAME LEADS!.

I have to add, that my local Euro-Car Parts dont carry stock of much, but they'll get it 'next day' and will deliver to my friend in the trade for free, regardless of item cost.  They wont deliver to residential premises in their own vans.

I'll also add that I have worked for DHL, and anyone who claims they are a 'proper' delivery company are smoking something which should carry a health warning.  ;D
