Ok,
I returned to Omega ownership last year following redundancy. I had a number of Migs from new between '96 and '01 as company cars and ran a MFL MV6 saloon myself from new for a couple of years after that.
When I took redundancy last June I wanted a car to tinker with as a project to keep the mind active and bought a '98 CD V6 auto estate - which I fettled with. I got a job in Nov with a company car and the Mig stayed safe in my garage doing nothing much for months on end.
However, I realised I really wanted a 3.0 and so bought a low miles MFL Elite saloon in April and then set about tinkering with that also. So, at this point I have 2 migs AND a company car with neither mig really being used - so a mate made me a sensible offer for the Estate and it was sold in July.
In August we decided to move as our current place was always a stopgap. The new place that we will move into ourselves over a couple of weeks - and need an estate car really. Looked at renting one and its actually cheaper to buy a cheap Mig estate than rent an estate for a fortnight. Its about £200 a week to rent an estate & I've paid £375 for the new Mig.
So, I collect my MFL CDX V6 leather manual estate with long MOT tomorrrow. The Elite is now SORN at a mates place with the tax chopped in and the paperwork all in order for the CDX.
So, am not quite sure what to do with the CDX at the end of the move, sell it or break/scrap it.
So that's the logic behind the madness. Who knows what the CDX needs doing to it once I get my hands on it, it has full Vx history with cambelt changes and the oil was last changed 5k ago - so hopefully a good starting point. 1st thing I'll do is an oil change and check breathers etc.
I'll let you all know tomorrow. Fingers crossed
