clear it (with code reader), if it reoccurs, ignore if not causing issue, or replace ecu

Maybe something to do with this:

put you are foot on the brake and handbrake on, when u turn the key move the gearstick from park all the way down  and back again, while turning the key,

Car is running fine, eml light flashed up a week ago when i was stuck in traffic for two hours. I've only just got round to reading the code.

I think it was the heat of the engine. Do you think the heat could have caused a temporary fault with one od the sensors?

Will do. Its not causing any trouble. I think it was just the heat of the engine (2 hours in a traffic jam). And the light hasnt come on since.

Dave Elite - are you getting a 19 as well?  I've seen them throw a few erroneous other codes (usually MAF codes though)

The Omega I've just stripped had a fan mounted in the wing, it was connected to the e.c.u./relay box via a tube...
Maybe your fan is not working or the ducting is loose/blocked?
