Hi there. As a first posting hope someone can help a very exasperated DIYer. If not a bit desparate!
I own an Omega 2.2 CDX auto. engine Z22XE, and had to be towed following a cambelt failure. I changed the cambelt but the engine shows no sign of life whatsoever. Turns over fine so presuming no engine damage. Believe I may have set the cambelt wrong as the markings are very confusing. (Using Haynes manual) In addition to the usual markings there x2 yellow dots on both camshaft sprockets. The camshaft cover markings are also painted yellow.
On the cranshaft I cannot find any `cutout` to align to. There is a single white dot adjacent to a screw hole and a vague yellow dot/mark on the inner side rim - and nothing I can see to align this to, if relevant.
I would be most grateful if someone could advise me how to determine the correct timing markings and alignments.
The local Vaux agentes answer is £50 `recovery` and ? whatever cost of repair - which is not very encouraging!!
Any help would be really appreciated
