headlight electrical connectors
« on: 13 October 2010, 21:37:20 »

sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find it when searching.

having a 94 gls with the headlight lenses that have gone cloudy, is the later, pre facelift, projector headlights compatible with the electrical connectors, or are they different and therefore incompatible?

just checking options before i end up buying the wrong things.

thanks

you are ok to fit projector lamps, look the same externally but arent HID, the connector is the same, just be carefull when buying online as lhd ones are cheap and nasty on ebay, and gen vaux ones break easy in the post, adjusters are brittle.

I bought a set of 'clear' headlamps off eBay - £50 a side IIRC, for my '96 TD when I had it.. never got around to fitting them before I sold it..

One thing to watch out for - I'm told the lights will fit the early models, but they switched the kind of bulb used at mini FL I think, and the replacements necessitated buying new bulbs before fitting.

Connectors were identical, though.

and what sort of funding would be required for them to travel to zumerzet?

(assuming, of course, you wish to part company with them)
