hi on fitting abs unit no brake fluid from back brakes does any one know what order the lines go on the unit please help and what the letters by each hole on the unit

You replaced the whole unit, not just the ecu bit

Oh boy, are you in for some fun and games 

When air gets in these, you'll have a job getting it out.

no i took out the whole thing and took it to them there was a fault and they repaired it

Its likely you will need specialist equipment to refit it. Sorry.

I may have to be doing a similar job myself soon, so will be pleased of any further info given on this thread. Not many on this forum seem to have much experience with ABS, but hope you get all the help you require.

well i got lights on dash out so probs gone its just a case of sorting the lines correct place on unit

I asked this very question at my local vaux place, they said they have never had to use tech 2 to get the abs bled, pressure bleeding was all they did, and they have done a few.

the Mechanic guy is pretty clued up, far from daft, so cant see him telling a porkie..

Ill be keeping an eye on this one

I've had to do it a few times where people (including myself  ) have allowed air into the actuator whilst bleeding.


The key to ABS ECU repairs is to purely remove the electronics and coils, not the hydraulic part.

did you have to bend the pipes out of shape that much?

is that the same?

pressure bleeder as sugested, if that dont work jack a driving wheel and "fool" the pump into operation.

I pretty sure that'll not fool the ABS into doing anything.  :-/ Jack one rear wheel up & you'd only have just one wheel spinning and three stationary wheels.
I drove just one wheel of my Astra the other day and all that did was confuse the ABS into putting the light on.

Good point. Have bled brakes before on other cars both with pressure feed, and the olde-worlde method of pumping the pedal, mixed result in both cases.

Has anyone any experience of fitting these without the tech 2, just using the 'bored mate slowly pumping on the pedal method'??

I assume you mean the loud pedal ....  I think that's where my 'problem' started and the ABS light came on.

It might be slightly different with traction conyrol  :-/

I still doubt it'd work with just one wheel turning ....  :-/ :-/
