running rough at low revs - advice needed please?
« on: 03 November 2010, 14:32:44 »

howdy again folks

i changed my dis pack over the weekend as the car was missing like mad

it is, however, still running rough/lumpy, particularly at low revs & is hesitating slightly on acceleration, it smoothes out a touch as the revs climb but it's clearly not quite right & nowhere near as smooth as it should be  :( the gear stick is shaking quite a bit at times & feels like it belongs on an old massey ferguson tractor  :-?

my next step is thinking that i should change the plugs & leads asap but as there is weeping from the left bank (as you look at the car from the front) cam cover gasket should i really be doing that as well and cleaning out the breathers too at the same time?

i 'paperclipped' the car earlier and had (amongst other expected codes to do with a recent battery problem) a code 57 (ICV) which would point to an issue with the engine not breathing properly wouldn't it? (also backed up if i have interpreted what i have read about the cam gaskets giving up due to breathing difficulties)

sorry if i have gone on a bit but i wanted to get as much detail in about the issue as possible

any advice on this will be greatly appreciated  :y, obviously all the work above needs doing but if i can get the car running smoothly and work through them bit by bit rather than in one go it would save my patience (well definitely the wife's thats for sure)  ;D
