Starts, but now misfires+oil leak
« on: 03 November 2010, 08:15:25 »

I changed the crank sensor at 7am this morning ( with a pattern part, I know !) and the beastie now starts but has a misfire and feels like it's on 4 or 5 cylinders.

I do have an oil leak which appears to be fouling the area of the crank sensor and there was some on the old sensor which still worries me a fair bit ? any ideas on this bit, I guess it's the rocker cover but when checking the plug wells on that side they appear dry.

Only thing I can think is it doesn't like the pattern sensor so may continue to track down a GM one. I will need to drive it today and hope it may clear but doubt it will. Ho Hum ::)

Have you checked the plug wells?  My last Omega cooked the plug leads when the cam cover leaked and my present one did the same thing to the coil pack.  Symptoms were low rev misfire.

Of course, the leaking cover was on the hard-to-get-at bank! (passenger side)
