Oil in Spark Plug Recess
« on: 16 November 2010, 07:09:43 »

Just gone to change my plugs, on 2.5 V6, and when i removed the HT leasd (driver side of engine) i found that the recess was almost full of oil. I have had the car for about a year and have always had a very minor leak at the the back (driver side) of the camshaft cover, but thought nothing of it. I was wondering if this might somehow be making its way into the plugs, though i can't see how as the HT lead seals the hole when it is fitted. Any ideas would be welcome........the car is running fine apart from that, with only minor white smoke on start :-/

The plug leads don't seal 100%, there are enough gapsfor a liquid to get past them. Definately time for a cam cover gasket change :y

As Welung says, Camcover gaskets need replacing and breathers cleaning ;)

Only fit genuine Vx gaskets here and make sure they give you the black sealant. Best bet is to order them from andyc on here at trade club prices :y
