Problems with Throttle
« on: 09 December 2010, 10:32:46 »

Hi guys, jumped in my 2.2 2002 CDX auto this morning and she fired up but when I press the accelerator nothing happens! I'm wondering whether its a throttle cable or if the battery is not creating enough volts?? Can someone help, Please, I've tried searching various posts, but wondered if someone had come across this before and could guide me to the right...errr....Guide!
Many thanks in advance,
Gav :'(

Hi,
The 2.2 is a DBW (drive by wire) which unfortunately means it is controlled via the ECU.

I have had a similar problem with my Omega.

If you can have a look at the throttle pedal. There is a connector there, small plug, which some times gets caught by the drivers feet. Check to see if the connection is o.k. Another possability is the connecting plug on the side of your throttle. Could also be a jammed butterfly inside the throttle but my guess would be the plug on the throttle pedal.

Dave.

Just checked and she'll rev a little, but not as she should, seems to me like i've got to clean the throttle body and the butterfly, probably never been done, does this sound about right? >:(
