Screen wash not working
« on: 10 December 2010, 11:07:50 »

No screen wash for front or back. All fuses ok and water not frozen. Anybody know how they are wired or where I can get a wiring diagram from to carry out some tests. Thanks :)

The filter at the base of the pump is very prone to blocking, check this first.    :y

Do you need to remove the pump. I wanted to check that power was getting to the pump first. :)

Yep, just lift it out. Then remove the rubber grommet, which is the filter. There will be some water loss.

Does it lift out vertically or is it horizontal towards the engine.

It's just one pump for both screens, one direction for front & the other for the rear. Can you hear the pump running when you press the button?

Sorted. Disconnected elec connector and contacts looked slightly corroded. Cleaned it up and now it works. Thanks for the help. :y

And having cleaned it, only fill the bottle through a fine filter. Haven't had a problem with mine in 11 years following this procedure. :y

I find using a sensible screenwash mixture stops the nasty 'white sludge' growth
