if its tensioner, its a 90 degree arm to an idler pulley, connected to what looks like a mini shock at the top of the engine

Suggest you look at this very useful guide:
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1264071895

Draw a picture of your Aux belt path before you remove it. You can remove the thermostat without disconnecting the pipe in front of it. No need to remove rad.

Fist of all you DONT need to remove the rad.
If yours has air-con slacken the A/C tensioner by the 10mm bolt and the pully will fall down out the way
take off A/C belt first and replace last.
Now remove the black vac pipe off the pump to allow the tensioner to rise there should be a 10mm bolt fixing this to the engine
To take the tension off the main belt remove the 16mm bolt thats on the top of the shock absorber and loosen the 13mm bolt(dont remove 13mm bolt).
The tricky bit is putting the tension back on.
Whatever you do DONT lever the tensioner you WILL break it
I use a trolly jack handle and a piece of wood to push it back down using the inlet manifold as a levering aid :y

Hi,thanks everyone for replys, but its the bracket that holds the tensioner wheel that as snapted,i have orderd one from pentagon £27,but they wanted £50 for the belts, going to order after market ones, has anyone removed this bracket, mine is now off the car,had to use male sump plug, allen type key,but i think the whole unit has come off the engine, which i dont think should have happend, managed thermostat, after removing air filter,as advized thank you,the one that was on was open,so car hasn't been runing at correct temp.So if anyone reading this has had this happen, would like to hear how they repaired it.

I had to do mine last year... and I had the same problem, with the whole assembly coming off...

I ended up putting it in a vice, using stilsons on the "sump" socket end and a massive 50+mm socket on the other end, to separate it all...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1264071895 is worth the look at for replacing the belt and retensioning....

I also strongly recommend replacing the water pump with a metal impeller while access is available, as the BMW one with the plastic impeller has a habit of failing.

EDIT:

Too late, job is done already!
