Snow Chains
« on: 20 December 2010, 18:16:28 »

Hi, anybody had any experience with using snow chains on an Omega? Had a few butt clenching moments in the last few days and just managed to get up roads with any sort of incline. How do they cope if say you hit a road that has been cleared? Are they worth the investment or would winter tyres do the same job? Any advice would be welcome!!

Not worth the money.
Use tyres with good tread ie 6mm+ and loads of weight in the boot+full fuel tank

snow chains aren't intended to be used on tarmac, they're just for use to get you out of a sticky/slippery situation.  :y

I bought some snow chains last year and are an arse to fit. Sooo.. I bought "autosocks" last month and are far easier to fit and remove. You can only use them in snow and ice but not tarmac for a long period of time. They got me out of a few "situations" :y Anyway I am in Oz now so no need for all that claptrap. G'day! ;)
