hi should the pipe coming out of the heater matrix connect to the top or bottom connector on the hbv,  thanks in advance rick.

Is the hbv getting vacuum from the small pipe with elbow on top?

with heater on there is no vac coming through pipe from bulkhead.

i have disconected  hbv and connected pipe to a hose.   with no air pipe connected if u put water in from one side  water will gothrough pipe that is no connected to matrix  not sure if this  is wright as been told to run without air pipe connected and it should go through matrix.

Not sure which setting should give vacuum, try both on and off....?

Check the rest of the vac pipes in engine bay for anything obvious, any sucking noises while engine running signifies a leak. But at what point this affects the heater vaume solenoids in the cabin I am not sure.

Others will advise further as I have no further experience with cabin heating. :(

Not sure that's right, needs vac to give heat, maybe others will confirm...?

Top pipe on hbv and top pipe on bulk head go to auxiliary heater pump on drivers wing in series, as the photo. Could the aux pump be blocking flow, do the relevant pipes get warm in the series up to bulk head....?

Pits question I know as it will need re building to test.

Yep, HBV should need vacuum to block coolant to the matrix. Default state without vacuum should be to allow coolant flow through the matrix.
