i need to disconnect the battery haynes say i have to disconnect it within 15 seconds of swiitching off ignition to avoid setting off alarm  is this realy nessary

yes! or the alarm will sound!
slacken your negative battery connection, turn ign on then off, then your 15 secs starts.

bonnet open and clamp nut on the negative already loosened up.

That's odd. I switched my ignition off 2 hours before the battery was disconnected, (5am & the demist fan kept running, no tools so phoned the yardman & asked him to disconnect when he got in @ 7am). The alarm works, the battery held out & the fan is fine now. Cold gremlins? :-?

I went to turn down the volume with the wheel control and it done a random station select
Ok now the temp is above freezing

the way i read this was..(how did the blower fan fix itself.)

alarm doesnt come into it, just part of the story?
