do you need to change the cambelt when you have the waterpump done? and where is the best place to get the parts?

No but if its not far off needing replacment its best to get them done together ;)

You can do the water pump without removing the cambelt cover at a push but its easier to remove it and while your there you might as well do the belt kit ;)

With 'only' 10k left, I'd be inclined to change the belt at the same time...

yeah i think i will then just priced all parts up £116 for waterpump,cambelt kit,and rocker cover gaskets think thats quite good

cam cover gaskets MUST be genuine. DONT use pattern ones!

Don't get your camcover gaskets from anywhere other than Vauxhall, they won't last 5 minutes

Try contacting andyc on this site (he is a parts manager at a dealer, and normally happy to post most stuff out trade).

Get the gaskets from dealer, then cambelt kit and pump from buypartsby.


You cannot do a GM V6 Cambelt without the V6 locking/timing kit.

Send AndyC a pm via the forum. He works in the parts dept of a Vauxhall dealers and he'll give you the trade price and post them out :y

Another one here in the 'get it all done at once' camp.

I cant see the water pump being an easy job without removing the cambelt first?

And did the parts price you were quoted include new tensioners?
