water in behind the doorcard
« on: 19 January 2011, 17:46:57 »

hi all, today i was putting my new speakers in my car and when i took the old speaker out i found it was wet behind the vapour barrier, is this normal? and if not where would the water be coming from, i haven't used the car in two months and it's been sitting under snow for that time! could this be the problem, any thoughts thanks rich.

The door outer skin to the membrain is a wet area, but if there is any build up of water at the bottom of the door then the drain holes might be blocked.

As said, outside the membrane is wet, inside the membrane and I would think the membrane has a leak...? Has it been disturbed?

Membrane is there to keep the water out, and hence keep the speakers etc dry. There should not be water near the speakers.

Also check the drains in the bottom edge of the door are clear as said.

also in romania :P.. the point is that the inner door gets water inside on all cars. the rubber seal on the windows is not to prevent water from gettning in. make sure the drains are clear and leave it be :)
