ABS/TC/Speedo/PS (Pls can this be moved to help?)
« on: 01 February 2011, 08:52:42 »

Hi all,

I have a few issues and could do with a point in the right direction...after driving for about 2 miles the speedo cuts out, odometer stops, abs and tc lights come on,also power streering seems like it doesn't work.Even seems like the stereo loses some sound too...I'm no genius with cars but would welcome any replies.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions  :y

Been there .. got the t-shirt  :(

ABS ECU fubar

Options :

New from VX ( if you win the lottery)

Replacement 2nd hand unit - must come from same engine/gearbox/model year or will need a "tech2" session to configure it.  Same fault could occur. Prices will vary

Your unit repaired - around £130 with a 2 year warranty. I had mine done by BBA-reman and was extremely pleased. As it is "your" unit it needs no configuring

The job is not "Hard" ....  its just bloody "fiddly". The car can be driven without the ECU as you leave the hydraulic part behind and just take off the ECU. It will be exactly as it is when the light comes on .. but all the time .. !! BBA fixed mine and got it back to me in 5 days ..

As said .. I used BBA-Reman  .. well pleased  :) find them via google

I believe Mark DTM had issues with them and used someone else ... might be worth asking him and doing a comparison ??
