Rear v6 mains cap removal - any ideas?

Evening all! does anyone have any handy tips to remove the rear mains cap on a 3.0l without bending the bolts, ive had a go, but dont want to cause any more damage! :-[

Use a big bar till it comes undone, you are turning the right way I presume ::)

what I meant was, Ive undone the cap bolts but, have put some back in to rock the cap free, but wont budge.

The mains caps are what hold the crank in.

If you have removed the bolts, give the cap a smack with a rubber hammer :y

If you have removed the bolts, give the cap a smack with a rubber hammer Thumbs Up!

Tried that, & with a bigger hammer & punch, but only moves about .5mm aswell as wiggling the crank.

I think i might have to take it of the stand & t**t the crank with a block of wood! as it aint listening! :'(

it's the RTV down the side of the bearing cap that's holding it in.

replace the two bolts with either two less critical ones or bits of bar and continue the levering process - that's definitely the way to do it.
