No luck. I'm pizzzed  >:( >:( The only chance now seems to be to put the intake back on and drive it. Although I already loosened the stat bolts, will I end up with a leak?

I managed to get enough room by taking off the upper end oh one of the hoses to power steering fluid reservoir. Just taking the bottle off it's bracket did not give enough space (the other hose is so short?!). Well, now I could reach the b-bolt somewhat.

I dropped my E12 socket and a spanner "somewhere" when trying to undo it, can not see them? Where have they gone? Does anyone know where they may have landed? Not visible from any direction, crawled under the car and did not see them.

Tried different spanners, they slipped. 10mm, 3/8", the Wurth Multi spanner, all. Tried a multi-socket (Wurth does not sell any torx spanners and the E12 socket went missing) and it slipped, the bolt still it TIGHT. Direction to open is counter-clockwise, looking from the end of the bolt the spanner pointing to right and pull up.

I already had my angle grinder in my hands but the I realized it won't fit in there.

Not having much luck with it. And it's -12 degrees out there. I have not been this pizzed for a while...
When I dropped mine I eventually found it lying on the chassis rail under the battery.

You must use the E12 socket to start it turning, the 10mm socket will just chew up the head :( You are trying to turn it the correct direction :y

My plan would be to find the E12 socket, use it to apply a steady force to undo the bolt, and then try knocking the engine lifting bracket backward & forward. The bracket cannot move very far because it has a finger that engages in a hole in the block but if you can get it to move a few mm in each direction, while applying a steady force to undo the bolt, then each time it moves then the bolt should move with it.

I MADE IT  :D :D :D :D

It was not even difficult. Found the socket, it was behind the exhaust heat shield (the 10mm spanner is still somewhere...). As the head of the bolt was a bit damaged due slipping the spanners I had to use a pry bar to fully insert the E12 socket and I got it open. Then with very small "almost suitable" socket I managed to get it out.

Transfer pipe was a piece of cake, I levered it outwards with a pry bar, it was easy, not even tight. And the stat itself was also easy. New was not original GM and I had to replace the stat bolts with shorter ones, also had some trouble to keep the O ring in its place. Other than that quite easy. Except I dropped one of the intake trumpets bolts next to the oil cooler (and again, all bolts and the sandwich plate off....)

Thanks for all the comments and hints  :y :y I can encourage all of you to do the job, it is not that bad after you figure out the position of the b-bolt.
