Drivers door lock woes...
« on: 12 February 2011, 08:21:19 »

Morning all,

Can anyone throw any light on this problem please?

I've now bought 2 different solenoids off well respected members off here, and both told me they were working units.

Unfortunately for me, my car still refuses play ball.  >:(
The drivers door still refuses to lock/unlock on the remote, although all other doors and boot work fine, so I have to use the key to lock the door.

Any ideas on what to try/do next please? Bear in mind that I have minimal mechanical knowledge, but always willing to learn and give things a go  8-)

TIA  :y

Is the lock mechanism seized? Ime if there are signs of life from the door pin then the motor itself is working,or trying to work, but something is stopping the mechanism. Usually the lock mechanism needs lubing.

Also chevk the rods connecting it all up are still attached, and also that your getting power at the motor plug itself, maybe the loom is damaged by the door hinge perhaps?

You could always take the working passenger side one off and try it on the drivers side just for piece of mind ;)
