Doors
« on: 16 January 2011, 16:41:07 »

Hi, can anyone tell me if facelift doors will fit a pre-facelift?
No  for the firtsdoubt, the internal trims will be different and possibly the rubbing strip outside. But...will the the hinges & electrical plugs be compatible? Also, my 2.5td has a wierd habit of suddenly losing all power when I throttle backas though it just wants to idle. :-? I,ve noticed that if I dip the clutch, everything goes back to normal. This is most prevalent from starting from cold for the first few miles. Odd or a common thing with these?

estate doors will not fit a saloon and vice-versa  :exclamation
but saloon to saloon and estate to estate will fit across the ranges, yes the rubbing strip will be colour coded on the facelift instead of the black on pfl/mfl no great deal looks better imo  :)
just a straight swop hinges etc identical , doorcards interchangable  :y
your other faults i dont know but someone will answer with more knowledge than me  :y

Although the doors are physically the same, face lift front doors have different wiring in them. This is because the window switches on face lifts are on the doors rather than the centre console.

You can swap the door looms over, but it is a PITA job, easier with door off the car though. :y

Dunno whether it's a common thing, but mine does exactly the same, and has done for quite some time. Injection pump was serviced by a currently serving Bosch techie with almost 30 yrs experience.
It only happens whilst changing gear when cold and as I'm getting 41-42mpg with general town and A-roads driving, it's not really an issue.
Dip the clutch and it's away again. :y
